    Job Description

    News Corp is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to provide day-to-day financial support of News Corp’s Shared Technology organization. This role will report into the Vice President, Controller of News Corp’s Shared Technology organization and will be based out of our headquarters in Midtown Manhattan. The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly motivated team player and problem solver with the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and deadlines effectively.  

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the development, design and implementation of detailed, data-driven expense allocation model used for cross-charging News Corp businesses

    • Provide relevant and insightful financial reporting and analysis with respect to monthly actual results for various audiences (senior management to operational leads)

    • Prepare and distribute timely monthly financial statements to the News Corp businesses

    • Assist with monthly financial close processes including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations

    • Assist with accounts payable functions such as vendor setup, PO requisitions, invoice coding and payment processing

    • Attend regular check in meetings with key stakeholders and business partners to ensure that budgets, outlooks and monthly/quarterly analyses are accurate, complete and timely

    • Prepare ad-hoc analyses and assist with special projects as necessary



    • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance with 3-5 years of financial analysis experience

    • Experience implementing new systems and/or workflows with focus on process improvement

    • Knowledge of Microsoft packages (Advanced Excel modeling skills)

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work with diverse groups of people


    • Experience using PeopleSoft, TM1, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) or similar systems

    • Experience in the publishing/media industry or supporting technology organizations a plus
